About Alpine Psychology

What is Psychology?

Psychology seeks to support individuals, families, and communities to understand themselves more deeply and to navigate life’s challenges in ways that enhance well-being and quality of life. As described by the the Australian Psychological Society (APS), psychology is a profession focused on helping people and communities find practical solutions to real-life concerns, including mental health and well-being, relationships, learning, performance, and social connection.

From a trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming perspective, psychological therapy recognises that people’s experiences, nervous systems, and ways of thinking and interacting with the world are shaped by both life experiences and neurodivergence. Therapy prioritises safety, choice, collaboration, and respect, and acknowledges the impact of trauma on the body, emotions, identity, and relationships.

Using evidence-based psychotherapy approaches, therapy is tailored to each individual’s needs, strengths, and goals. Sessions are collaborative and paced carefully, supporting clients to develop practical tools, build resilience, and foster greater balance and well-being in ways that feel supportive and meaningful for them.

About Cath

Cath is a dedicated registered clinical psychologist committed to supporting individuals to build resilience, balance and a greater sense of well-being. With a strong focus on trauma-informed therapy, she offers compassionate, evidence based psychological care within a calm, supportive and non-judgemental space. Working carefully and thoughtfully, Cath adapts her approach to each individual, supporting her clients as they navigate life’s challenges.

With broad clinical experience across the lifespan, she has worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds presenting with a wide range of psychological concerns. Her approach is trauma-informed, and grounded in evidence-based care, with a strong emphasis on safety, pacing and individualised treatment. She recognises that trauma can impact the body, emotions, identity and relationships, and works collaboratively to support healing at a pace that feels manageable for each person.

Cath has experience supporting individuals, families and groups experiencing difficulties including anxiety, emotional dysregulation, mood difficulties, stress and burnout, trauma, dissociation, and challenges related to self-worth, anger and relationships. Her work with trauma-related presentations includes PTSD, complex trauma, dissociation, and dissociative conditions such as DID and OSDD, as well as the ongoing impacts of adverse or overwhelming experiences. She is an EMDR-accredited  practitioner and integrates EMDR with parts-based, stabilisation focused, and neuro-affirming approaches, informed by ISSTD guidelines. As a neurodiversity-affirming practitioner with both lived and clinical experience, Cath also supports neurodiversgent individuals, including those navigating trauma and burnout.

Cath holds full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia with clinical endorsement.  She is an EMDRAA accredited EMDR practitioner and a member of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD), EMDR Association of Australia (EMDRAA), and the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA). She holds a Master of Clinical Psychology along with postgraduate and undergraduate qualifications in psychology and related fields. Cath is committed to ongoing professional development and regularly undertakes advanced training in trauma, dissociation, EMDR, parts-based therapies, and neurodiversity-affirming practice to ensure her work reflects current best practice.

"I am humbled by the stories my clients choose to share and honoured to walk alongside them on their journey towards achieving their goals and personal growth."
